4th Worth Rifle Shooting Success
On Friday evening the 4th Worth Rifle and Pistol Team set off for Bisley. This was their first time since 2019, due to the pandemic.
While the majority of the team departed from the 4th Worth Hut, some others came from as far as Wales to be part of the team. Paul and Barry left at lunch time to ensure camp was set up and ready in the daylight.

Keneu Cubs Bird Boxes
This week Keneu Cubs crafted Bird Boxes out of wood. This was part of the Environmental Conservation badge, the DIY badge as well as the teambuilding section of the Teamwork badge.
The Cubs then took their Bird Boxes home after the evening to be able to monitor them and look after them as part of the Enivronmental Conservation badge as well.

District Conker Competition
Congratulations to Adam, Oliver and Alex, all of whom were semi-finalists in the Crawley District Conker Competition on 8th October 2022 with Adam being runner-up following an intense and well-fought final.
We were blessed with a beautiful morning for the competition which a welcome return to the district calendar of events post-pandemic. Despite the many demands on time and the wide range of activities which our young people enjoy beyond Scouting, the event was well attended, but we’d like to do even better next year!

Dual Silver Acorns

Our congratulations to Diana Thomson and Ian Lynn who were both awarded their Silver Acorn for Scouting yesterday. The Silver Acorn is only awarded “after at least 20 years’ service, which should be specially distinguished and appreciably better than outstanding”. Both have given many years’ service to Scouting and “always do their best” and so much more, so it’s fantastic to see those achievements recognised. Well done both of you and so well deserved!
Kent International Jamboree 2022
4th Worth Scouts enjoyed a fantastic summer camp this year at Kent International Jamboree. KIJ ran from Saturday 30th July to Saturday 6th August and 31 Scouts made the journey to Kent County Showground to take part in this large event along with over 5000 other young people from Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers from all across the UK and from over 20 countries around the world.

Rann & Milton Cubs Summer Camp August 2022
From Friday 5th August to Sunday 7th August 2022, Rann and Milton Cub Packs held their first Summer Camp post pandemic. This was held at our HQ, and we had 8 cubs in attendance.
The Cubs achieved many badges and parts of badges over the weekend frame. As well as other fun activities we had planned for them. Here’s some of what they got up to:

Rann & Milton Cubs Platinum Jubilee Tea Party
On Wednesday 8th June 2022, Rann and Milton packs from 4th Worth Scout Group invited their Cubs’ parents towards the end of the evening to join them for a Tea Party celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Cubs spent the evening decorating their own bunting, creating Union Jack paper chains and more in preparation for their parents and siblings to arrive.
Once the 40 or so Parents and Cubs were ready and seated, the Cubs went inside to collect cups of tea for their parents, as well as some scones and jam. …
