4th Worth Rifle Shooting Success

On Friday evening the 4th Worth Rifle and Pistol Team set off for Bisley. This was their first time since 2019, due to the pandemic.

While the majority of the team departed from the 4th Worth Hut, some others came from as far as Wales to be part of the team. Paul and Barry left at lunch time to ensure camp was set up and ready in the daylight.

Saturday morning was an early rise as the briefing began at 8am sharp. After the briefing, the team then went their separate ways as they began competing in the 14 different Shooting disciplines on the ranges, plus the additional Crossbows and Archery disciplines.

Shooting concluded at 9pm, and after some food it was time to sleep before the final Shooting and Awards on Sunday. With breakfast early at 7am, the remainder of the Shooting started at 8am, with the Awards later in the afternoon at 2pm. Meanwhile, the camp site was packed up ready to go.

As Awards began, the first person to the podium was Harley. She is not only the 4th Worth Team Captain, but is also a Commonwealth Silver Medallist for Shooting!

Harley collected a Gold medal for Precision Air Rifle, followed by the Gold medal for Precision Three Positions Air Rifle, one she had not competed in since 2019!

Next up to the podium was Eve, with a very credible Bronze medal in the Sporter Three Positions Air Rifle, this followed with two Silver medals. One of which was for •22 Rimfire Rifle Under 18s, and the other for •22 Rimfire Sharpshooter.

Max collected his Silver medal for •22 Rimfire Class X, however unfortunately he was disappointed with this result, having recently received two Gold medals in Wales.

Freya however was not so disappointed, having achieved a Silver medal in the Sprint and Shoot Class A.

Courtney won a Brone medal in the 6 Yard Rifle, but was unable to collect it as she jetted off to Germany for a new shooting kit!

After the long weekend, everybody arrived safely back at the 4th Worth HQ, with nothing but a broken windscreen wiper to deal with!
